Fort Atkinson Fire Department Responds to Storm Related Calls

According to an update from the City of Fort Atkinson Fire Department, last night they responded to multiple storm related calls throughout the city and rural district. Most were for wires and trees down. However, three homes on Talent Trail received lightning damage including a side by side condominium which reported a lightning strike that resulted in a significant attic fire. Most fire damage was contained to one unit with light smoke and electrical appliance damage to the other. Occupants of both units were displaced until the buildings can be checked for electrical and other hazards. Damage is estimated at $100 thousand.
