The Elkhorn City Council held an extremely brief meeting on Monday night, lasting approximately 21 minutes in length.
The majority of the meeting was spent approving items, including the permit and road closure map for the upcoming Oktoberfest. Three options were in the council's packet and the board selected Option 3 which was described for the audience as "the most restrictive".
A permit was also approved for Lauderdale Lakes Marina to do boat maintenance work in an additional building at the marina due to space constraints.
The Library also reported that they have a donation of $1500 to a streaming service to download eBooks.
The 2022 Budget was also discussed, with it being reported that the City is looking to the gravel lot next to the fire department to provide parking for the firefighters. One councilmember asked if the budget could include baseball field maintenance, as one resident had approached him saying the fields were in rough shape at the varsity field and at Sunset Park, and it was affecting the tournaments regularly held there. No action was going to be taken on this and the board moved into a closed session.
