According to an update from the City of Milton, the drop box at City Hall has been removed and will be unavailable through November 9. The decision to remove the drop box was based on a court decision regarding drop boxes in the Teigen v. Wisconsin Elections Commission case that has been upheld by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The City Hall drop box did not comply with the requirements for a staffed drop box to be used to receive absentee ballots. In order to avoid any confusion, the drop box was removed.
Absentee ballots must be returned via regular mail or in-person at City Hall by the person who requested the absentee ballot unless the voter requires assistance in accordance with the Federal Voting Rights Act.
Municipal Court payments can be placed in a black drop box located in the lobby of the Police Department/Municipal Court building, 690 S. Janesville Street. Utility Bill and other payments can be placed in a blue drop box at the Public Works Facility, 150 Northside Drive.
