Cravath and Trippe Lakes Preparing for Next Phase of Lakes Drawdown Project in Whitewater

According to an update from the City of Whitewater, the Cravath and Trippe Lake bed areas have been mowed to prepare for the next phase of the lakes drawdown project. The plant species that are being mowed are not aquatic plants that won't survive once the lake is refilled. Mowing the vegetation helps to reduce the amount of plant material in the lakes once they are refilled in June of 2022. Additional mowing and a prescribed burn are planned for later this November and in December, and dredging is scheduled to begin in January.
