Milton Common Council Approves Two Grant Applications

At the Milton Common Council meeting last night, they approved a resolution to apply for an Urban Forestry Grant and Urban Forestry Catastrophic Storm Grant. This is a cost share grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The grant activities will include updating the City Tree Ordinance, tree removal and replacement, expanding upon the existing GIS system to further develop the tree inventory on City properties, and additional education and outreach. The grant application is for projects in the amount of $29,288.78 of which the cost share for the City of Milton would total $14,644.39. The City cost share would be required to be included as part of the 2023 budget process. The grant is a reimbursable grant which means the City must complete and fund all expenses related to the projects before requesting reimbursement.
