In an update from the City of Watertown, they have shared information regarding East Main Street. East Main Street was milled with the other 2022 streets on June 28, as this was the only opening in the milling contractor’s schedule. Their next anticipated scheduled opening for milling was late August or early September, which was too late to ensure that this street will be complete before school starts. Additionally, the Street Division will begin construction of a retaining wall and sidewalk, and the city does not want heavy equipment on a newly surfaced street.
Tomorrow, Thursday July 14, crews will mobilize to pave a thin layer of asphalt pavement over the sections of the street where gravel and potholes are present. The final paving of East Main Street is scheduled for the week of August 8.
