City of Watertown Shares 2021 Lead and Copper Sample Results

The City of Watertown has shared the 2021 Lead and Copper Sample Results from the Water Department. This year, results found higher levels of lead in the drinking water in 6 homes out of 8,608 service connections to homes and buildings. Testing requires tap samples to be collected from sites that are more likely to have plumbing materials containing lead. If more than 10% of the samples exceed the lead action level of 15 parts per billion, or the copper action level of 1300 parts per billion, then additional action is required.
