According to an update from the City of Lake Mills, the Commons Park restoration project is set to begin on Monday, July 25 and is expected to last around one month. The project includes the repair and restoration of failing sections of the Veteran’s Memorial. Upgrades will include handicap ramp installation, handrails, new decorative concrete, light fixtures, as well as a block retaining wall with planting locations that are influenced by the existing landscaping around the band shelter. A sidewalk will also be installed to increase the amount of internal park walking access. Electric and restroom access during this time of construction will be closed. Portable restrooms and wash stations will be supplied during this time. This project was funded by received grants from the Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation as well as the League of Wisconsin Municipalities.
