City of Janesville To Start Hydrant Flushing On Monday

According to the City of Janesville, hydrant flushing will begin on Monday. There are 2680 public hydrants in Janesville and all will be inspected by the water department. The city says the majority of the flushing will take place from 5 AM to 11 AM on weekdays. There may be temporary discoloration or pressure issues in residents’ water. If discoloration is discovered, run cold water in the bathtub to clear the plumbing. This might take a few minutes. It is also recommended to make sure the water is clear before doing laundry. If the water does not clear and there are still particles blocking the stream, call 608-755-3115.
