City of Janesville to Remove Traffic Signals at S. Jackson Street and W. Racine Street

wsld77

At this week’s Janesville City Council meeting, they approved an ordinance that will remove the traffic signal at South Jackson Street and West Racine Street, and will install an all-way stop. The existing traffic signal equipment at Racine Street and Jackson Street is aging, outdated, and at the end of its useful life. Additionally, traffic volumes through the intersection have changed. A signal warrant analysis was performed, and the intersection does not meet federal warrants for traffic signals.
