City of Janesville Announces Upcoming Holiday Closures

According to an update from the City of Janesville, most city facilities will be closed this week on Thursday and Friday and also on Friday, December 31 for the holidays. This includes the Fire & Police Administration, City Hall, City Services Center, the Oak Hill Cemetery Office, the Janesville Senior Center, and the Water & Wastewater Utility Offices.

The Hedberg Public Library will be closed on Friday and Saturday, but will be open on New Year’s Eve from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. and closed on New Year’s Day.

The Janesville Transit System will provide transit services until 6:15 p.m. on Friday, December 24, but no night side services will be provided on December 24. No transit services will be provided on Saturday, December 25. Bus service will commence Monday, December 27. No transit services will be provided on New Year's Day. Bus service will commence Monday, January 3, 2022. With Janesville schools closed for winter break, JTS will provide no extra service routes from December 22–January 2, with extra service routes commencing Monday, January 3, 2022. There will be no holiday impacts on trash and recycling collection. Residents may place carts for collection on their normal day.
