The City of Janesville is announcing their landfill policy for deer disposal for 2021-22 season. The season begins on September 18.
The City of Janesville sanitary landfill will accept deer carcasses, regardless of the animal’s CWD status, ONLY from the following:
Residents within Rock County.
Rock County residents may dispose of deer carcasses during the months of September through January during the following times: Weekdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM and Saturdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM.
Processors, taxidermists or similar such businesses from within Rock County and/or Green County.
Processors, taxidermists or similar such businesses must schedule deer carcass disposal weekdays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. during the months of September through January. Landfill personnel shall be notified of the expected volume and date of disposal at least 24 hours or one working day in advance. Commercial waste haulers disposing of deer from customers serviced in Rock, Green and/or Walworth counties only. Commercial waste haulers must currently be licensed with the City of Janesville.
Licensed commercial waste haulers must schedule deer carcass disposal weekdays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. during the months of September through January. Landfill personnel shall be notified of the expected volume and date of disposal 24 hours or one working day in advance. Please Note: Deer carcasses must be disposed of separate from regular waste, and will not be accepted if deer carcasses are co-mingled with other waste. Licensed commercial waste haulers are asked to notify their customers accordingly.
