On Tuesday night at the City of Fort Atkinson City Council meeting, they approved the spending of approximately $50 thousand from the American Rescue Plan Act Fund to provide advanced emergency medical technician training for 12 current volunteers in the city’s fire department. The fire department has been responding to an increasing number of EMS related calls over the last several years, and this training will allow the fire department to better serve residents in the area. Also with this training, the department can charge higher rates for advanced life support transports when appropriate, and the city will retain the full amount of those transport fees.
