According to an update from the City of Elkhorn, spring leaf and brush collection begins next week. The official schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, April 5, May 3 & June 7: Northeast Section
Tuesday, April 12, May 10 & June 14: Southeast Section
Tuesday, April 19, May 17 & June 21: Southwest Section
Tuesday, April 26, May 24 & June 28: Northwest Section
The City’s Department of Public Works personnel have from Tuesday through Friday of each week to collect the brush. Do not place brush on the terrace after crews have gone by, as they will go through the route once during the week.
The city reminds residents that leaves and brush must not be mixed, and the maximum length for pickup is 12 feet and maximum diameter is 9 inches. Brush should not be at the terrace earlier than the Saturday prior to collection week, and brush must be at the terrace no later than 7 a.m. during collection week. Outside the collection program, residents can drop off brush at the City’s Compost Site located at the City's Department of Public Works Facility.
