According to an update from the City of Delavan, they will be completing hydrant flushing from September 26-30 between the hours of 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Hydrant flushing is done to maintain water quality by flushing sediments from mainline pipes, determine weaknesses in the water system, verify ample water flow for firefighting, and more. Water discoloration may occur during this time. Letting the water run for a few minutes should clear the issue. Residents should not wash laundry while water is cloudy or discolored. Wait until water is clear before laundering. For more information on hydrant flushing, call the Utility Office at 728-5585 ext: 140.
