City of Burlington Will Begin Hydrant Flushing in April

According to an update from the City of Burlington, Water Utility will begin flushing hydrants on Thursdays during the months of April through July to reduce and remove the accumulation of rust and iron in the City’s water main distribution system. The flushing may cause discolored water in your system. However, the discolored water is bacteriologically safe and will not cause harm. City residents should check their water supply on Thursdays before engaging in any work that could be affected by the City’s flushing hydrants.
