City of Beloit Updates Transit System

According to a press release from the City of Beloit, there have been some changes to the Beloit Transit system’s schedule and routes. Service times will begin as early as 5:30 a.m. on some routes, and all service will end at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday service will continue running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional changes include:


 Reducing time from Route 1 on the west side of town for improved timing with the Route 6

connection at Woodman’s transfer point.

 Adding service to McNeel Intermediate School via Route 6.

 Adding more convenient service to Copeland and Porter avenues via Route 6.

 Route 1 will continue back downtown and Route 6 will continue to the east side of Beloit to

the Eclipse Center and Piggly Wiggly.

 Route 6 goes past Beloit Memorial High School to have two buses serving the high school.

 Route 2’s time was reduced to ensure it was meeting up with other buses at Piggly Wiggly.

 The Gateway route will now service the Eagles Ridge neighborhood and include a stop at

Fran Fruzen Intermediate School.
