According to an update from the City of Beloit, they will be submitting their 2023 Annual Action Plan and 2023 budget with a list of projects funded with 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or before November 15, 2022, or at such a date thereafter prescribed by HUD. The following actions and activities will occur regarding the proposed allocation of $600 thousand in new 2023 CDBG funds and approximately $85 thousand in CDBG program income:
• The 30 day public review period will run from 9/30-10/30. During the 30-day public review period, the 2023 Annual Action Plan and 2023 CDBG Budget will be available for public review and comment. Members of the public may view the documents in the lobby of the 1st floor of City Hall, 100 State Street, between 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday and at the Beloit Public Library during normal business hours. The Annual Plan and CDBG Budget will also be available on the City’s website at www.beloitwi.gov under City Departments - Community Development.
• On 10/17 at 7:00 p.m. at 100 State Street in Beloit, a public hearing on the proposal will be held during the City Council meeting. Details will be made available to the public prior to the meeting.
• On 11-7-2022 at 7:00 p.m. at 100 State Street in Beloit, the final approval of the proposal will occur at the City Council meeting. Details will be made available to the public prior to the meeting.
