According to a media release from the City of Beloit, they are launching the 2022 election process for a two-year term on City Council. Anyone interested in running for council can pick up an information packet and nomination papers in the 1st floor lobby during normal business hours; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The packet can also be found at www.beloitwi.gov/council. Four seats will be on the Tuesday, April 5 election ballot, and the selected council members will take office on Tuesday, April 19. The first day to circulate nomination papers is Wednesday, December 1. Candidates must have a minimum of 100 valid signatures from Beloit residents. All paperwork must be submitted to the City Clerk-Treasurer by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4.
