Beloit Police Make Numerous Arrests As Gun Violence Crackdown Continues

Beloit Police have recently been working hard to curb gun violence in the community and that has resulted in numerous arrests. On Friday, police responded to a report of a firearm pointed at a motorist during a road rage incident near Milwaukee Road and Freeman Parkway. The reporting party was a semi driver who said that the vehicle had dark tinted window Police later identified and arrested the male, 22-year-old J’Juan M. Winfield from Milwaukee at Big Hill Park.


2 Rockford men and 2 juveniles also from Rockford were arrested after a shooting incident on Saturday. A 16-year-old was seen with a stolen handgun near the 1400 block of Hull Street and the four additional suspects were identified after fleeing the scene, and three were in custody. Police said they made the following arrests

  • 16-year-old Rockford male: juvenile in possession of a dangerous weapon, receiving stolen property and resist/obstruct

  • 15-year-old Rockford male: resist/obstruct and a juvenile apprehension request

  • Mikevion C Ingram, 17, of Rockford: resist/obstruct

  • Damion D. Neal, of Rockford, 18: receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon and resist/obstruct


Three men were arrested as a result of a felony warrant on Sunday night including two males form Beloit and one from Oshkosh. Police say the Violent Crimes Interdiction Team located an individual around 7:15 PM Sunday with a federal warrant. Three subjects ran when approached by police and after a foot chase were taken into custody. Marijuana, Oxycodone, Cocaine, a handgun and cash were recovered. Police said they made the following arrests:

  • Raymone D. Gosha: possession with intent to deliver- narcotic, possession with intent to deliver-marijuana within 100 feet of a school, two counts of resist/obstruct, and a felony Department of Corrections warrant

  • Charreese M. Long, 29, of Oshkosh, resist/obstruct and a felony Department of Corrections warrant

  • Vontrell J. Varnado, 20, of Beloit, carrying a concealed weapon, felony bail jumping and possession with intent to deliver-marijuana
