Beloit Police Department Shares Information on Saturday Fatality of 4-Year-Old

In an update from the Beloit Police Department, they are sharing information regarding a fatality that occurred on Saturday at about 9:40 a.m. at the sports complex. The department says that a 4 year old child was wearing cleats while walking in the parking lot. The child slipped and fell down out of the line of sight of a driver. The driver was unable to see the child. Several witnesses corroborated this information, and no traffic violation occurred. Police say this wasn’t a situation of speeding, distracted driving, or alcohol. The driver will not be facing any charges or citations from this accident. The family members are also not facing any charges or citations. More information on this incident may be given as it becomes available.
