Beloit Man Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, 29 year old Fabian Jones from Beloit was sentenced to four years in prison on September 10 for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Jones plead guilty to the charge on June 16. On March 15 of 2020, officers searched his residence after a disturbance and found a holster, laser sight for a gun, a magazine chest carrier, three different types of ammunition, and a small safe. Jones was arrested and made calls from jail talking about a gun in the safe and asking others to take responsibility for it. Officers attained a search warrant for the safe and found a loaded .40 caliber handgun and a spare magazine.
