Beloit Man Charged, Delavan Man Injured In Ohio Travel Plaza Stabbing

According to multiple sources, a Beloit man is facing charges after fatally stabbing a man and injuring another, who happens to also be from our area, at a rest stop in Sandusky County, Ohio.

The stabbing incident happened along the Ohio Turnpike. 51-year-old Thomas C Conner of Beloit is charged with first degree murder when he fatally stabbed a 66-year-old Indiana man and injured a 53-year-old man, Alan Austin from Delavan around 5:30 PM Tuesday. There was no information regarding the motive for the stabbing.

Police said they told Conner to drop the knife several times and used less than lethal weapons after he charged at deputies. Conner ended up being shot by a deputy and was taken by helicopter to a local hospital. Austin had life threatening injuries but has been released from the hospital. Multiple agencies are investigating separately the stabbing and officer-involved shooting.

We will have more information on this story when it becomes available.
