According to an update from the City of Beloit Police Department, yesterday shortly after 2 a.m. 54 year old Randall V. Hoyt from Beloit was arrested for 9th offense OWI, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting/obstructing an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, misdemeanor bail jumping, and a warrant from the Department of Corrections and Green County. An officer conducted a traffic stop for him due to a defective tail light near St. Lawrence Ave. and Johnson St., when Hoyt pulled into a driveway in the 700 block of Johnson St. and tried to flee on foot. The officer was able to arrest him in a nearby parking lot after a brief foot pursuit.
