Beloit High School Student Arrested On Murder Charges In Relation To Recent Homicide

A 15-year-old has been arrested in response to last week’s homicide in Beloit. The Beloit Memorial High School student is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18. The District Attorney will decide if the juvenile will be tried as an adult. A firearm was located in the possession of the suspect upon their arrest, and Chief Andre Sayles says the school district is cooperating with the investigation. In a statement, Chief Sayles said:

“It is evident when we work together; we are able to foster a community of trust and unity, It is because of the dedicated men and women within our department and our courageous community members working together as one we are able to hold individuals accountable to help seek closure for these senseless acts of violence.

“I encourage those who have valuable information related to other unsolved homicides and critical incidents to come forward to assist us in holding others accountable for their actions and taking back our streets.

“The City of Beloit Police Department offers its condolences to those affected by these senseless acts of violence.”

More information will be provided when it is made available.
