Five Members of the Beloit Fire Department saw themselves get promoted by the Beloit Police and Fire Commission yesterday. All five firefighters are now serving in acting lieutenant titles. One of those individuals was Matthew Ahrens who was sworn in by his mother Jelene, of who is retiring from the Deputy City Clerk position in a few days. The other promotions were Charles Cunningham, Justin Hanaman, Michael Kundert and Shawn West.
