Beloit Fire Department Rescues Dog from Residential Fire

According to an update from the Beloit Fire Department, on Sunday at about 10 a.m. crews responded to a residential fire in the 1200 block of LaSelle. First arriving units found light smoke upon arrival. Once they opened the front door, they were encountered with heavy black smoke throughout the house. It took an extended time to find the main area of the fire. Once the fire was found, crews quickly extinguished the fire. During this incident, a dog was rescued and lifesaving measures were performed on the animal. The dog was transported to a veterinarian for treatment. Nobody was home when the fire started, and no injuries to people occurred. The cause of the fire is undetermined, and the cost of damages is not yet available.
