At last night’s Beloit City Council meeting, the board awarded the contract for Big Hill Bike Path. This project will add an asphalt surface to an existing section of the multi-use trail in the lower section of Big Hill Park. The path will be 10 feet wide and include a “split-rail" wood fencing along each side. This section of the trail is the last section needed in order to complete over 1.3 miles of paved multi-use path between Big Hill Center and Walters Rd. The Engineering Division recommended awarding the contract to Rock Road Companies, Inc, in the amount of $95,410. Funding for the protect is available in the Capital Improvement Budget, and the city may receive a small donation from the Rock River Trail Coalition.
