At last night’s Beloit City Council meeting, they approved the submission of a grant application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency regarding industrial washer extractors and dryers. Industrial washer extractors are used at fire stations to remove toxic chemicals and carcinogens that contaminate turn-out gear; and all three stations would receive new industrial washer extractors and dryers. The grant amount is for $68,548.18 and there is a $6,854.82 match required which would be expensed through the 2022 fire department budget.
