5th Offense OWI's Reported Over The Weekend In Two Separate Incidents In Rock County

Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies have made an arrest for a 5th Offense OWI. The incident happened on Friday night around 7:10 PM when officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that was speeding southbound and nearly hit a vehicle on Center Avenue near Kellogg Avenue. The vehicle was then discovered to be speeding southbound on Highway 51 near Happy Hollow Road before finally coming to a stop in the 6500 block of Highway 51. Stanley Mackovich was discovered to be impaired and arrested for 5th offense felony OWI and fleeing. He will make an initial court appearance Monday.


Meanwhile, Janesville Police also made an unrelated arrest for a 5th offense OWI. This incident happened just before 2:30 AM Saturday, after a vehicle was noticed speeding and with no front license plate. The vehicle pulled over at Racine and S Main St and that’s when 40-year old Scott McPherson fled on foot. He was captured after as short foot pursuit and charged with 5th offense OWI after McPherson refused sobriety testing. A blood sample was acquired by warrant and the results are pending.
