Whitewater Police Participate In Charity Program

Whitewater Police participated in a charity program over the weekend. According to a news release, the WPD, along with the Whitewater Kiwanis Club and the Whitewater Unified School District, participated in a program called “Cops for Kids”. The program promotes literacy and community trust in law enforcement, as well as getting free books into the homes of children. Officers picked up the books, gently used, for donation, at Washington Elementary. They will keep the books in their vehicles and read to children they meet in the community, then donating the book to the child.
