Whitewater City Manager Withdraws From Fort Vacancy

The Whitewater City Manager has dropped out of the race for the same position in Fort Atkinson. According to the Daily Union, Cameron Clapper contacted the search firm to notify them of his intent to drop out of the race. The Fort Atkinson city council president says that he is aware of the decision, but has not had an opportunity to speak with Clapper. Meanwhile, the Whitewater Banner reports that Clapper decided he still has work to finish in Whitewater. Clapper has served as the city’s manager since 2012, and another four months as the interim in the same role, preceded by two years as the assistant city manager.
