Watertown Police Engage in Tuesday Morning Vehicle Pursuit

According to an update from the Watertown Police Department, yesterday at about 1:05 a.m. an officer attempted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Market St. that did not stop for a stop sign. Officers pursued the vehicle throughout the city, and the driver eventually stopped in the 400 block of S. 8th St. where three occupants got out of the vehicle. One of the subjects complied with commands of officers on the scene, and the other occupants did not. Officers used their taser and were able to safely take them into custody. The operator of the vehicle was a 26 year old female, and she was taken to the Jefferson County Jail. She faces charges of eluding, felony bail jumping, operating while intoxicated, hit and run, and other traffic related offenses. The other occupants face charges as well.
