The City of Watertown’s Water Utility Department has sent a letter to residents about lead service line replacement and DNR grant funding to aid in the replacement of these private lines. Residents who received a letter have a confirmed, privately owned lead service line. Residents who return the letter and opt in to the program, can receive up to $5000 to replace the line. A city ordinance requires lead service lines to be replaced within 36 months of notification. Residents are asked to respond swiftly, as these funds are only for 2021. Questions can be directed to wttnwater@ci.watertown.wi.us or to 920-262-4075. More information is available on the city website home page.
