Watertown Common Council Approves Wisconsin Department of Transportation Grant Application

At the Tuesday night Watertown Common Council meeting, they approved the submission of a grant application for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternative Program so a ten foot wide concrete shared use path for bicycles and pedestrians on S. Church St. can be implemented. The estimated cost for the project is $1,033,389. The grant would pay for 80% of the project, which is about $826,711. The city is also looking at funding another shared use path on N. Fourth St. This project would cost $1,006,447 and the grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation could cover 80% of the costs totaling $805,158.
