In just 14 minutes, the Watertown Common Council approved numerous new items of business.
The council approved a license for a new Thai food truck, EMS service in Lebanon, a memorandum of understanding between Local 877 and the City, approved a request for library tax exemptions in both Jefferson and Dodge County, approved a resolution allowing a Wisconsin DNR Urban Forestry Catastrophic Storm Grant, a change order for construction for the Interurban Trailhead Building that would put exhaust fans in both of the bathrooms, as well as a resolution to correct budget amendment to transfer $10,309.00 from Forestry Capital Projects to Parks Capital Outlay for the purchase of a Bobcat skid steer loader.
Additionally, the council approved a Resolution to submit a WDNR Surface Water Planning Grant. This would refund the staff for a long term stream restoration project.
The council also approved a Resolution for support of Local Bridge Program Funding Application for the Cady Street Bridge. The applications are available every two years. Repairs to the bridge need to be done by 2024 so it can be used as a detour during the 2026 Main Street Bridge project, and give it another 10-15 years of life. The bridge’s rating is 60, and anything between 50-80 qualifies for rehab, while anything under 50 qualifies for reconstruction.
Finally, the council approved a Resolution for support of STP Funding Application for South Twelfth Street. The meeting then adjourned. Budget meetings are next week.
