Village Of Fontana Closes Beach & COVID 19 Update

The Village of Fontana after seeing an influx of local COVID 19 cases the village of fontana board of trustees has made the decision to close the Fontana municipal beach to no residents according to a Facebook post. The changes are being made to promote the safety of the residents and staff and village residents and season pass holders will continue to be permitted to use the beach. They will continue to monitor the situation and when the conditions allow the beach will reopen. According to the DHS 2.2% of new COVID 19 tests have come back positive in the last 24 hours which is down a full percentage point from Monday. 78% or 19,543 of positive COVID 19 cases have made full recoveries with about 19% cases still remaining. Five more people died due to complications from the virus bringing the death total to 750. Rock County reported 9 new cases, Jefferson county reported 4 new positive cases and Walworth county reported 10 new cases.
