Update to Plane Accident in Janesville
At noon today, a press conference was held regarding the airplane accident in Janesville this morning in which two people have died. The plane crash occurred not even one minute after takeoff. It was an experimental plane with one engine. The issue with the plane is undisclosed, and the sheriff's department was able to locate the plane within ten minutes of it going down with help from neighbors. It was found in a wooded area, and hit trees on its way down, causing the wings of the plane to break off. The plane was found upside down. The last crash reported from the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport was in 1999. More information, including the identities of the deceased, will be released as it becomes available.
