Stop Sign Placed On Paid Parking Plan In Lake Geneva
More paid parking will not be coming to Lake Geneva’s downtown. According to the Lake Geneva regional news, the aldermen made the decision to not expand parking after residents voiced concerns. Paid parking was being considered for expansion in 5 locations, would have added 52 stalls, and generated nearly $75,000 in yearly revenue. Another proposed location on Geneva street between Cook and Maxwell would have added 57 parking stalls and nearly $82,000 a year. The city’s aldermen now say they will explore other avenues. The city’s paid parking currently runs from March to November and costs $2/hr. In 2021, paid parking started in February because of Winterfest.
