South Beloit Police Officers Arrest Man Yelling Racial Slurs

According to a press release from the South Beloit Police Department, 43 year old Bradley Gummow was taken into custody by officers on Saturday shortly after 6:30 p.m. when officers responded to the 300 block of Perry Ave. on a report that he was yelling racial slurs to a family. Gummow also made threatening motions and gestures towards an adult female and two juveniles. When officers arrived at the scene, Gummow ran inside his residence in an attempt to hide, and officers ordered him to come outside. After he failed to comply, officers forced entry into his home and physically subdued him and took him into custody. He was charged with 3 counts of hate crime, 1 count of false 911, and 1 count of resisting arrest. He was lodged at the Winnebago County Jail.
