A serious accident occurred on the Rock County line this morning.
According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, deputies, along with Green County Sheriff's deputies and authorities from Brodhead and Orfordville, responded just after 6 AM to the intersection of Highway 81 and County Trunk T for a two vehicle accident.
According to the press release, a crossover was traveling northbound on County Trunk T when it ran a stop sign in the intersection, and made a passenger side impact of another vehicle. The crossover went into a ditch and caught fire.
The driver managed to escape, but was injured. He is only being identified as a 33-year-old male from Illinois. The second driver was a 63-year-old male who was pinned inside his vehicle.
Both drivers were transported to Janesville Mercyhealth and Trauma Center where the extent of their injuries is unknown. The crash remains under investigation.
