Updated: Apr 23
UPDATE 4/23: Beloit Police have released an update into a crash that closed a portion of Henry Avenue on Thursday. Officials say a 41-year old Beloit man was speeding when his motorcycle crashed into an SUV. A second motorcycle, driven by a 31-year old woman, laid their bike down. The man was transported to Mercyhealth Janesville with “significant” injuries. The woman involved was treated for minor injuries and was not transported. Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. Police say the male motorcyclist will receive a citation for no endorsement, crossing the centerline, speeding and no insurance. The female motorcyclist will be cited for no insurance and no endorsement, while the driver of the SUV, a 35-year old male, will be cited for operating after suspension. Henry Avenue reopened Thursday afternoon, and the Wisconsin State Patrol was working on accident reconstruction.
Officials in Beloit are on scene of what is being described as a serious crash. The Beloit Police Department says Henry Avenue is closed between Chapman and Fayette, and two motorcycles and an SUV were involved in the crash. One person has been taken to Mercyhealth Janesville Trauma Center. Henry Avenue will be closed for a few hours so the Wisconsin State Patrol can reconstruct the accident. Beloit Police say more information will be released when it is available.
