School District of Milton Transitioning Away From Universal Masking

According to a press release from the School District of Milton, following several weeks of decreasing rates in new COVID-19 infections, the district unanimously approved transitioning away from universal masking and universal contact tracing. These changes will take effect beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. However, masks will still be required on school buses per the CDC national mandate. Additionally, asymptomatic individuals infected with COVID-19 choosing to return to school or work on day 6 of their 10-day isolation period will still be required to wear their masks through day 10. On day 11, these individuals may choose to continue or discontinue masking as they see fit.
