The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has awarded an $89 thousand dollar grant to the School District of Milton for special education. Milton high school special education teacher, Declan Boran-Ragotzy, noted the district's admirable attention to the special education department with this grant. He said that what he is most proud of with receiving this grant is that it was a huge team effort.
"The fact that we have a staff throughout the district that's willing to support this and encourage this and get our students involved in as many ways as they can is very important."
The grant will go towards the special education department and the purchase of an all-inclusive vehicle that can support differing mobility aids, post secondary support of students and their families, transition training for staff as their students transition out of high school, and the districts SEARCH program, which gives students job experience at the hospital.
