School District of Milton Investigating Social Media Comment

According to a press release from the School District of Milton, late last night they were made aware of a troubling comment made on an individual’s personal social media. The comment, which was not written by the original poster, made a vague threat to school safety. Local authorities were notified and though their investigation is ongoing, police have made the district aware that there was no credible threat to student safety. However, additional police officers have been onsite at Milton High School today. The district reminds the community that any threat of violence is taken very seriously and could result in serious disciplinary issues that could damage a student’s educational future. If students or families see a threat on social media or elsewhere, the district asks that it be reported to a district staff member or law enforcement immediately.
