Rockford Man Charged In Darien Sees Court Date Adjourned Until April
An Illinois man found with drugs and a gun at a Darien gas station had his court case adjourned until April 8. The Delavan Enterprise reports that 27-year old Christopher Ross of Rockford was charged in Walworth County on charges of possession of a firearm by an out of state felon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, both as a repeater, and possession with intent to deliver. The criminal complaint states that police attempted to pull over a car on march 5 that was exceeding 100 MPH. The car fled and the trooper terminated the pursuit. The car was located at the Darien BP gas station, and police made contact with Ross who smelled like marijuana. Several thousands of dollars in cash, two bags of marijuana, and dozens of pills of ecstasy were among the items located. A gun was located in the garbage at the gas station. Ross was convicted in 2016 of delivering or manufacturing cannabis.
