Rock County Moves Into Phase 2 of the Reopening Plan

The Rock County Public Health Department has moved the county into phase two of its reopening plan. Data shows the county has met enough public health benchmarks to move on from phase one which started in mid may. Phase two includes 50% capacity with continued social distancing at public events and in retail stores, commercial offices and churches, no more than 25 people at private gatherings, the health department still recommends that nursing homes continue to prohibit outside visits. Overall the county has met 9 of 11 benchmarks falling short on quick contact tracing and its capacity to isolate people who might not be able to self isolate. The health department still advises people to continue to social distance, wash hands and use other protective guidelines as the county reopens.

The Percentage of positive COVID 19 tests went up slightly Wednesday to 2.8% but has not passed 3% since last friday with the daily testing capacity reaching 16,100 per day with 63 active labs running tests. 10 More people have died due to complications from the virus bringing the total to 673 in Wisconsin with 14,999 having recovered out of the over 21 thousand who have been infected with COVID 19.
