The Rock County Board of Supervisors will continue its discussion on snowmobile maintenance at a later date.
During their nearly five hour meeting Thursday night, the board entered into a long discussion on the topic.
According to the discussion, the grant was previously awarded but was less than what they were told in terms of mileage. The club wanted 241 miles but only received 174. There was confusion over the issue and what the snowmobile club is not getting. Lease agreements were a big topic, and what the club has and has not met was a major topic of conversation as well.
Ultimately, the board made the decision to vote on only the funding the DNR is providing. The decision to up the dollar amount to in excess of $66,000 and the trail mileage to 241 miles. The amendment passed and the original resolution went back on the table. It was discussed postponing the remainder of the covnersation to the next meeting. Supervisor Sweeney wanted more communication with the DNR and said "some of the things I've heard here are flat out wrong". The remainder of the discussion was postponed until the next meeting.
