Last night at the Rock County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board voted unanimously to spend $43 thousand from Excess Sales Tax to cover a shortfall in funding for the Peace Trail paving project. The Peace Trail runs from Tripp Rd. on the south side of Janesville to Big Hill Park in Beloit, and is currently mostly gravel. Two grants, each worth $45 thousand, were previously awarded for this project. Additionally, over $237 thousand in donations was raised for the project.
