Numerous Topics From the Beloit School Board Meeting

The Beloit School Board postponed the election of a vice president during last night’s meeting, as well as waived a policy not to fill its vacancies, and planned public hearings for athletic reopenings. According to the BDN, the board decided on a public hearing session set for Saturday. Additionally, two candidates were nominated for the vice president role, with the votes ending in a 3-3 tie. After a brief discussion with legal counsel, the two candidates were allowed to give brief remarks. However, the vote remained unchanged and a unanimous decision was made to postpone the election, as well as suspend the policy of electing someone within 60 days of the vacancy. In terms of the public hearing on athletic reopenings, the district voted to hold a session on Saturday from 2-5 PM at the Kolak Education Center. It can also be viewed on YouTube. The in-person attendance will be capped at 51 people.
